Wow. This movie rocked my socks off with the skill and imagination that went into making this movie. Which doesn't surprise me since production took *4 years* so I was expecting something of this magnitude.
Jake Sully (Sam Worthington) is a Marine who is confined to a wheel chair. He has been given a post on another planet called Pandora. It's occupied by an alien race (blue people) who is tired of being bullied by the Earthlings who want the property they are living on (sound familiar? mmm) the air on this world is not compatible with human needs so they have created "avatars" which are bodies controlled by the consciences they are made for. Jake discovers when he enters this body can jump around, run and play just like he used to and he loves it.
While he is out on a mission he gets in a tuft with one of the native animals, gets chased through the woods and gets lost and separated from his people. He meets a native woman named Neytiri (played by Zoe Saldana) She teaches him the way of her people and gets accepted as a member of the Navi tribe. During which there is love, betrayal, emotions, and of course manly chest beating by the military who think they are supremely more important and more powerful then the tribe. They have a big nother think coming.
